Every year at this time, the President pardons a turkey. Well, this year the turkey is going to Disney World afterwards.
"...the winning Thanksgiving bird will get a first-class flight to Orlando on a United Airlines jet.
The bird will have a red-carpet entry to Walt Disney World. Visitors to Magic Kingdom can see the bird on Thanksgiving Day. It will also serve as grand marshal of the holiday parade before joining the resort's permanent live-animal collection.
This is the first pardoned turkey to be sent to Disney World. Two others have gone to Disneyland."
Does anyone else find this to be ridiculous? The turkey is being pardoned then leading a parade and then becoming part of the Disney "live-animal collection" as opposed to the "stuffed-animal collection". That turkey is going to get cooked at some point.
