So first there was Jennifer Mee, the 15 year old girl who was hiccuping for 37 days straight. She made all of the morning news programs and recorded her first album "Hiccuping for the Holidays" where she hiccups some of your favorite tunes like "Jingle Bells" and "The Dradel Song". She tried everything to get the hiccups to stop and they finally did. Now, along comes Brooke Owens of Asheville, North Carolina. She has been sneezing for over a month. She has to be home-schooled because the sneezing became so bad
"However, Dr. Clifford Bassett, an otolaryngology specialist at the Long Island College Hospital of Brooklyn, says there are many different varieties of sneezes, each of which may hint at the possible root causes of the affliction.
The monikers of these subtypes are evocative, to say the least - the "trumpet sneeze," the "big, bad wolf sneeze," the "cartoon sneeze."
Thanks Dr. Bassett! I imagine there must be others out there though, like the "hold it in" sneeze or the "just let it all out". Brooke should try to get Puffs to sponsor her on a worldwide sneezing tour.
I'm waiting for the next kid. It's going to be a boy who can't stop burping or dare I say, farting. And the Today show will put him on display, Al Roker might even light a match. Now that's entertainment.
For NBC news, I'm Evan Lucas. Good night, and good *hiccup*
